Statement from Mullumbimby Brunswick Valley FC Regarding Spectator Behaviour

At Mullumbimby Brunswick Valley FC, we hold our values of respect, responsibility, and community in high regard. As such, we wish to remind all players, coaches and spectators of our expectations for behaviour during matches:

  1. Verbal Abuse and Swearing at Match Officials: It is imperative that all spectators refrain from engaging in any form of verbal abuse or swearing directed at match officials. Such behaviour will not be tolerated under any circumstances. We believe in fair play and respect for the officials who contribute to the integrity of the game. Individuals that refuse to comply with this directive will be asked to leave the fields.
  2. Prohibition of Smoking, Vaping and Drinks in Glass Bottles: For the safety of everyone present, all smoking, vaping and drinks in glass bottles are strictly prohibited at the Pine Avenue Fields. Any individual found smoking, vaping or drinking from glass bottles will be kindly asked to leave the area. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all.
  3. Appointment of Duty Officers: Each team participating in our matches is required to provide a duty officer for every game. The duty officer must be a registered volunteer and actively uphold the expectations of our club. Their presence ensures the smooth operation of matches and contributes to the overall positive experience for players and spectators alike.
  4. Grandstand Seating: Spectators are welcome to occupy the grandstands located on either side of the dugouts and the covered area outside the changing rooms. However, please note that the central grandstand between the player dugouts will be closed during senior men’s fixtures. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.
  5. Technical Areas: Registered Players and Team Officials Only: The technical areas, designated for registered players and team officials, serve as crucial zones for coaching, strategy discussions and player substitutions. For the smooth functioning of matches and the safety of everyone involved, access to these areas is strictly limited to registered players and authorised team officials. We kindly remind all spectators that entry into the technical areas is strictly prohibited under any circumstances.

We thank all players, coaches and spectators for their cooperation in adhering to these guidelines. By upholding these standards of behaviour, we can all contribute to a welcoming and respectful environment for everyone involved in Mullumbimby Brunswick Valley FC matches.

Sincerely,

Steve Edmonds
