Finals are here after a long (wet) season. Three of our teams have already locked in their spot in the FFNC finals series this weekend, and with two of our senior men’s sides sitting well placed on the ladder as the regular season winds down, there could be even more Valley teams into Finals.
Three Teams Into the Finals
Age 15 Div. 1 — Grand Final Our Age 15 Div. 1 side face Alstonville FC in the grand final this Saturday 29 August, 10:30am at Oakes Oval, Lismore. They’ve worked super hard all season, also playing up in the seniors many times and Siam is also a referee! What an effort.
Age 13 Div. 1 — Semi Final Our Age 13 Div. 1 side travel to Byron Bay for their semi final on Sunday 30 August, 9:00am, chasing a place in the grand final.
Women’s League 3 — Semi Final Our Women’s League 3 side head to Pottsville Beach on Sunday 30 August, 2:30pm, also fighting for a spot in the grand final.
More Could Be On the Way
The finals picture isn’t finished yet, and two of our senior men’s teams are putting themselves in a great position as the season reaches its final rounds.
Men’s Premier League MBVFC currently sit third on the ladder with 29 points from 18 games, a healthy buffer ahead of fourth place. With the top of the table well clear of the rest of the field, a finals berth is looking very likely for this side.
Men’s League 1 MBVFC are fourth with 29 points from 16 games, locked in a tight battle for third with Pottsville Beach on goal difference alone, and with fifth-placed Uki Pythons only a point behind. Every game and every goal counts from here, a top four finish is well within reach.
It’s a big few weeks ahead for the club.
