To repair leaks and set out the junior fields for the six-a-side competition, there is a worker bee day scheduled for this Saturday, 01 October, starting at 10.00h in the morning. Hopefully, it will all be done in a couple of hours. Please turn up and lend a hand; apparently there is still plenty of food and drinks available.
To prepare for the AGM in December, please send suggestions on what you think the club as a whole should decide. The suggestions can be as detailed or vague as you like. Suggestions from the committee so far: Club motto, club vision and mission, club colours, team uniforms, mascot.
Rachel Dean won the first free week in the Byron Bay Soccer Camps...congratulations! Her son is delighted to be joining kids between 6 and 14 in the soccer camps this January, 2012.
We will sell tickets for another spot in the Byron Bay Soccer Camps (byronbaysoccercamp.com) during Junior Soccer Six-a-Side Wednesday evenings.
By the way, Byron Bay Soccer Camps are not affiliated with the soccer club in that town....
Michelle has kindly uploaded her photos from the Senior's presentation night to the page Photos - Presentation Day.
If you also have photos to share, of the presentation day or otherwise, please write to info@MBVFC.com.au and let's put them on the site.
Our Women's Division 3 team finished a great season with being Runners-Up after going down 0-2 to South Lismore in the Grand Final.
Nonetheless, it has been a fantastic year for our women's teams, so well done!
This ends our 2011 season.
A massive "Thank you!!" to all players, families, coaches and all volunteers and staff of Mulllumbimby Brunswick Valley FC for a fantastic year!
Presentation day was a lovely affair with about 250 joining in the celebrations at Pine Avenue fields from lunchtime, which ended around the campfire many hours later.
We are now looking forward to our annual Junior Six-a-Side tournament, which starts 12 October. Join the fun, because that's what it's all about!

Senior players, please RSVP with your coaches.
UPDATE 13 September: Bus leaves at 18:00h from the bus stop behind the Mullumbimby post office - just be there if you want to go.
The club and Women's Division 3 team are hiring a bus to take the team and our supporters to the Grand Final against South Lismore on Thursday night at Oakes Oval, Lismore.
Contribution will be around $10 per person, entrance $6.
Kickoff is at 20.00h and we expect to be back in Mullumbimby between 23.30h and midnight.
Let's go and celebrate the occasion and support our women when they take on South Lismore again, whom they beat in the semis!
Meanwhile, our Women's 2nd Division team were very unlucky to lose their semi-final after extra time and penalties. Nonetheless, they had a fantastic season and are our second most successful team this season already. Well done!
To help players without teams and teams to find enough players, the 2011 player pool is now open.
Contact us with your details, numbers and ages of players looking for a team, or if you are looking for players for your team.
We are collecting your requests and help you get in touch with teams or players to complete teams.
Two boys, six and nine years of age, are already looking for a team.
On Friday night, 09 September 2011, our Women's 2nd Division team play:
Lennox Head at Pine Avenue, Mullumbimby for a place in the Grand Final!
Kickoff is at 19:00h, so let's give them all our support!
Meanwhile, our Boys in Grade 12/2nd North and 13/1st Division were extremely unlucky to go out after extra time draws. Grade 12s played 1-1 at Alstonville, Grade 13s had a goalless draw at Lennox Head.
As there are no penalty shootouts for under 15-year-olds, the league position before the finals decided, and that went against our boys.
Nonetheless, they had a great season and will come back stronger next year, so let's give it up for them!
The next club meeting is to discuss final planning for presentation day, junior six-a-side tournament, other matters and we have also invited an interested sponsor to present their ideas.
All members welcome.
Our Women's Division 3 team beat minor champions South Lismore 1-0 away on the weekend to make the Grand Final, a fantastic result!
The Grand Final is scheduled for 15 September 2011, 20:00h at Oakes Oval.
Hurrah for the Women and let's get out there to support them!
