In tight game badly affected by the constant rain today, which created big puddles and slippery conditions, our Men's Division 4 side lost 1-2 to Ocean Shores today through a goal five minutes from time to finish the competition as semi-finalists.
Congratulations to our boys for the good season and for making the finals in the first place, after having lost 80 per cent of the players of last year's competition runners-up to other divisions and clubs. Valleys! To make the junior six-a-side competition possible again, we still need volunteers to run the barbecue. With thirty people in teams of three, everyone would do just one night from 16.30h to 21.00h approximately, including cleaning up.
The games are planned to start Wednesday, 12 October. Let's get work together for our kids and club. Contact us to put your name/s down for a night: info at mbvfc.com.au. In addition to league fixtures, these are the club's finals fixtures for this weekend:

This meeting is mainly about our submission/s to influence Byron Council's decision on the sports fields policy they will implement probably next year.
We must submit as much detail as possible about value we add to the fields and facilities, services we receive, and all other useful information about them for Council to be able to make an informed and fair decision, and for us to make our voice heard. Send ideas to our e-mail address, call, or even better, come to the meeting. The Men's Division 4 team lost their Qualifying Final game 3-0 to Goonellabah on Monday night in the replay of Saturday's abandoned match. :(
Now they have another chance to progress to the next round when they play Ocean Shores on Saturday at a venue to be announced. No better opposition for a date with destiny... Come, see the band of brothers and support them! The Pine Avenue fields are now closed for all matches and training.
The Men's Division 4 Qualifying Final vs. Goonellabah was abandoned at half time yesterday due to the pitch turning into a swimming pool within 20 minutes because of heavy rain.
After that, the sun came out, of course :) The game is now rescheduled for: Monday night, 22 August 2011, 19.00h at Pine Avenue, Mullumbimby. Everyone come, support the boys, have a chat and a warm or cold drink! Valleys! Valleys! Valleys! Finals time has arrived!
Check out our Men's Division 4 Qualifying Final and let's give them the support they deserve: MBVFC vs Goonellabah on Saturday 20 August 2011, 13.00h Pine Avenue, Mullumbimby Just last week, our boys beat the Gooners 1-0 away, so this will be an exciting game between arguably the best teams in the division. |
