Our very own MBVFC Grade 15 Division 1 player Kiri Dale recently made it into the squad of 16 players for the Northern NSW team as the only player from the Far North Coast.
The NNSW team will compete against other state teams in the Football Federation Australia (FFA) National Youth Championships in Coffs Harbour from 9th to 13th July 2012. Stefan and Hank from the Club Committee met Kiri on Saturday morning just before her team's 8-1 drubbing of Goonellabah to present her with a small gift to show the club's appreciation for her great achievement and to assure her of the club's support of her soccer development and career. Kiri is a shining example of how talented players with dedication and a good work ethic can make it to the highest level. Kiri has also made it into the news - check out a short video interview with her at: http://www.nbnnews.com.au/index.php/2012/05/04/mullum-girl-takes-soccer-scene-by-storm/ Uploaded the Club Song audio file to page Clubhouse - The Song.

The win consolidates our boys' great position in the division, with now six wins out of seven games. Our first team smashed their way further towards the top in the 2nd Division today, beating Bangalow 5-1. The game was actually more open during the first 30 minutes than the scoreline suggests. However, our boys scored three goals in the last ten minutes of the first half, effectively ending the contest.
In the second half, we missed quite a few good chances as Bangalow, trying everything to get back, opened up their defence. We still managed two more though in an interesting game that saw both teams fight hard all the way through. TWO High Performance Development programs are starting this Sunday specifically structured for

However, no worries, you can't win them all.
These fixtures have been changed. The list shows the new details:
Grade 11 Red 12/05/2012 9:00 Uki Uki v MBVFC Warriors In the season's first game for MBVFC Grade 11 Dragons on Saturday, four goals from Charlie Burton, a hat-trick from Tadgh Higgins-Nelson and two from Charlie Anderson secured an emphatic 9-1 win over Uki.
Our team displayed free-flowing attacking football, backed up by tight defence, according to impartial spectators. Our first men's team managed a 4-1 win over Alstonville on Saturday night, with Ricky scoring a hattrick for his Man of the Match award. This makes it three wins out of three and a great start to the season for our boys.
Our friends in Ocean Shores were so kind to let us use their fields for this 'home' game as our Pine Avenue fields still have too much water. |
