One of the biggest ongoing issues facing the best game in the world is maintaining the required number of referees to officiate all the games going on around the globe in any one week. Last weekend saw a spate of on field incidents where referees were attacked both verbally and physically for simply doing their job.. The instant respect which a simple uniform gave off in years gone by has diminished to such an extent that referees are quitting in droves in fear of their own safety. We see it at a local level and at a National one...Simon Hill's article this week which sheds light on one of footballs major concerts moving forward is well worth a read. GO HERE TO READ THE ARTICLE
Its been a busy week or two at MBVFC. Finally the summer six a side competition over at the Leagues club has finished, and what a season it was for the club. Our A' team and our B team won their respective Grand Finals, and our C team got runners up in theirs..so a fun and successful time was had by all. This now means senior training is in full swing over at Pine Ave and team nominations have been sent in to FFNC for the 2019 comp.
Our successful Grant application to refurbish Mull1 has begun and currently looks a bit like a bomb site. Both the field and the new female changing rooms are under construction so all of the training is taking place over on Mull2.
Pre season comps Anzac and Mcmillan are now underway and scores can be found HERE
